Is Google Adwords a waste of money? I tried it once and it didn’t work.

We’re sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with Google Adwords. Unfortunately, it is somewhat common for business owners to feel that they have wasted money on Google advertising.

Usually, this is because of two scenarios:

– You tried to run the campaign yourself and you didn’t really know what you were doing. If you believe Google, follow their setup wizards, and let the campaign run on it’s own, most likely you will lose money. Likewise, if you are constantly tweaking it without a true knowledge of what you are doing, you can lose money too. There is a balance that must be found between under-management and over-management. Do not trust Google to operate in your best interests.

– Your landing page was not effective. Maybe you got clicks to your website, but no conversions. This is not necessarily an Adwords problem; this is a web design problem. In most cases, your normal homepage is not a goog landing page for Adwords traffic – you need to create a special page for Adwords visitors.

Here’s the good news: Google Adwords can be VERY effective and the results are immediate. As a method of getting a quick return on marketing dollars, it is unbeatable. But you need to know what you are doing. Despite what Google says, it is not a “do it yourself” platform. Hire an expert like Net Elevation to manage your campaigns for a low monthly fee.
